THR 4 days post op

Woke up this morning at about 7am. Had some pain killers then went back to sleep till about 9.30.
I then had a wash and went downstairs for an hour, it's really hard going downstairs, it really wears me out.
So I've spent the rest of the day either in bed or downstairs, slept quite a lot, stayed on top of the pain with the pain killers.
I'm now back downstairs watching Xfactor bootcamp, so I will be down here for nearly 2 hours, that's the longest I've been out of bed for.

  1. Hi Sharon,

how are you getting on now ? The first 2 weeks really are the hardest because you're dealing with the effects of the medication and the surgery but it will get better I promise ! I used to find that I had to either stay upstairs or downstairs all day at first as the stairs are a bit of a killer. Partly it's confidence with the crutches too and hard work on the arms (at least they will get a bit toned !!).

Take care and hope you're feeling better today.

  2. Hi Dee,
It's going well thanks, I go up and down the stairs all day as needed, I look at it as part of my PT!!
I am at 10 days now and feel like I've turned a corner today, I was bright eyed and bushy tailed!! Lol
All I need now is to be able to have a shower when I want one, which isn't happening for now, as I have to walk unaided into the shower cubical as my DH won't let my crutches in there!! So he has to come in to help me!! :-)
